How many years are all you guys getting on your batteries. I just bought a new one for my Marcum after 4 years. It still had some life in it but where I used to get a solid day. Seems like after an evening it was down to about 20%. Put in a new one and after two evening still at 80%.
The battery Life can really vary depending on several different things.
First of course is usage: How often and How long are you using your flasher. Draining the battery all the way down puts an extra stress on the battery. However, normal usage and recharging cycles are fine. These batteries don't acquire a memory so recharging a partically used battery is ok.
Secondly: How are you recharging the battery. The best way to recharge is by using a 2 or 3 stage charger that first recharges the battery to capacity then drops to a maintance level charge. By using this method you never over-charge the battery.
Lastly: Charge your battery every mouth or two when not in use.
I've been using this method for years and have never replaced my Flasher or my Aqua-vu battery. The flasher battery is 6 years old and the aqua-vu battery is 5 years old. I had them checked last fall and I still at between 80 and 85 % of a new battery.
