We currently have some strong winds out of the NNW. Causing the ice pack to move on the lake!! I have ice piles on my shorelins and down on the breakwater at Lakeside!! All this NNW will remain out of that direction for the next 24-48 hrs. Than will switch to the west. Later in the week when the temperature is going to rise, I would guess will might see a shift to the south?
All this movement might or will allow our native friends some more open water to set thier nets! Hope they watch for the wind switch later in the week.....
Today I'm seeing the ice pack staying put out front of my home on Picard Point. I do have some open areas out aways....these open crack areas will allow the ice some movement once the wind switches on Wednesday.
The lake is going to be changing later in the week. Once we get the switch in wind directions!!
Lots of damage on the southend of the lake yesterday. The Mille Lacs Messenger has some great pics......sorry to see the damage fro those folks.
