Ok, after seeing the pic's and following the threads I've gotta ask (and I DID sign the petition);
Do you really think anyone, and of all the anyone's the DNR, is really going to give this petition a second glance?
Why?
- Bleeding hearts are going to side with the tribe for political gain. - Non-bleeding hearts won't touch because they don't want to lose any political gain. - In the last 5 years I've been checked for my license ONCE by the DNR - you never see them - and you're somehow going to get them to back you on this? (See points one and two and repeat). - Does anyone, that matters, have a real chance of going up against the tribe? Especially since the U.S. SUPREME COURT said they could fish? - It's very likely that Marge'y the bucktooth beaver will be our next governator; soooo unlikely they'll ever touch the tribe on this because.............see point 1.
Sorry for such a lousy first post but I'd rather spend the energy enforcing the rule's for these yahoo's. Wasted time and energy trying to reverse the rules.
For people thjat are nay-sayers on this petition stuff, I really can't say that we'll get the results we want. But it is going to show the powers that be that we're strong and there's alot of us............. (Not like MY ancestors, the Vikings, who were here WAY before the Ojibwe and never did the petition......as a matter of fact, I think WE had a treaty, too, but nobody back then could read Danish.)
Signed it!!! E-mailed it to as many people I know that are avid fisherman. Everyone needs to keep doing the same. Keep passing this on to everyone that you know.
ONE of the reasons we need to block this is to show how many we are..........Any fisherman that has ever held a rod in his hands is needed now to sign this thing to keep us free.
