I just wanted to put a quick report of what our guide team has been seeing out on the lake this past week.
We are still finding fish on most structures right now. I would say the deep gravel, mud flats, and the deep transitions of rock/sand...gravel/mud along the east side have kicked out the most fish this week. We have started to see this past week the fish really stacking up in certain locations. Spend some time graphing the structure...no fish -- move on.
The shallow rock piles have also really picked up for us in low light conditions and during the day if we have a good wind.
I've seen guys catching fish pulling plugs around the basin...spinners along the edges of mud or gravel...power corking...plugs at dusk/dawn.....it just depends on how you want to fish. We have continued to have success on 7-10 foot snells...#6 hook....and keeping the speed down to .5mph...just like last weeks report...if you start marking a good pod of fish...try slowing down as much possible over them.
We are seeing lots of big fish showing up this past weekend along with fish in every year class, which is great to see. It's suppose to be a great week of weather. Come on up...fishing is really good right now.
Until next week....we hope to see you on the water!
Glen, I would say yes...marked alot of hatches this past weekend rising up off the bottom. Just have to hope for a little wind to keep them out of the boat.
