Upper Red Lake lost a great man this week.  Anyone who ever fished URL probably got to know Shorty Hillman and enjoyed his stories.  We remember the one about the giant northern named Jingle Bells; he got away so many times his lips were full of tackle!  Shorty also taught us how to hook the minnow in the butt to catch crappies! 

Shorty had been hospitalized since the beginning of December and a benefit for the family was in the works for March 19th.  Shorty's memorial service will be held that same day in Kelliher.  Information is posted below.
