I agree. It's not looking good; New Year's is going to be a long shot for the permanents for most of the lake this year.

You need bad years for ice to make the good years that much better.

Now we can spend more time with the family over the holidays.... come on ice!!

We are were spoiled with the very cold year last year and houses going out

early. This year we are getting a dose of reality and poor ice conditions.

Right now the ice is simply not safe.

My crystal ball is on the blink, but fact is, we just need COLD WEATHER. The best ice is made when the daytime high is 15 degrees and the night time low is 7 below zero (and no heavy wind). Until we get something that resembles those kind of temps, we're spinning our wheels, Rick.

Maybe Santa can bring us some...............
