The reports are coming in from the mud flats and deep areas around them. Some anglers are reporting that the fish are holding very tight to the bottom and are difficult to see on the fish locators. Rigging lindy rigs and leeches have been the ticket out on the mud flats. The shallow shoreline structure has still been producing its share of fish also. Slip bobbers and leeches in the 8-12 foot area's have been the best. The shallow water has been better on cloudy days along with some wind to break up the surface water. The water temperature has now reached the mid 60's on calm warm days. This has triggered the fishng action as predicted. A few smaller fish have been reported under the 17 inch mark. Not large numbers of smaller fish, most fish coming to the boat have been the 21-26 inch fish as its been all this season.
The smallmouth bass action is going strong! Tube jig's pitched in the shallows have been the most common method used. Some have just been using the leech and slip bobber method that works just fine also.
