The activity in the fish cleaning shack has improved over the past week! That's good news around the resort as our customers are keeping a few more fish. The mud flats has been the most productive area over the past week. Lindy rigging with a leech on the breaklines has been the ticket on most days. Maintaining a slow speed of .4 to.6 mph is important in order to get bit. The spinner bite has also been putting some fish in the boat as of late. Rigging a fat night crawler on a crawler harness has been working along the breaklines on the mud also. Your speed for pulling spinners should be around .8 to 1 mph.
The water temperature has now been in the mid 60's and above on some calm warm days. With the warm up of temperatures the smallmouth action has really taken off. Tube jigs pitched off the rock stuctures in 8-14 fow has been the areas here. The clear water has been stained some due to the recent rains which has helped with the shallow bite.
"don't be a fair weather fisherman"
some good reports have come from raining, cloudy, and even fogging days!
