Reports are a lot of small fish which is just great! but not all people are having the same success as the video shows. Yes, there are some slot fish being caught! One of our customers caught 31 walleyes a few days ago with only 4 of them kept. They also caught two big northerns, some keeper perch, and acouple of pout. Overall a damn good outing!
The keeper ratio is still on the short size..........good signs are being seen though!
And, of course, the reason we have had such a good couple of upcoming year classes is because of late ice-outs the last two years with limited netting of our spawners. Let's hope Mother Nature continues to protect them, even if our Department of Natural Resources can't.
