I am planning to come up for the weekeng and was wondering what would be good tackle to bring up. I do most of my ice fishing in Illinois for panfish but am looking foward to catching some nice eyes and jumbos.
I was using spoons from Jr's tackle Saturday. green and orange, didn't try any other colors. If you can not find any, Portside has them just outside of Isle on your way to Hunters on 47.
Thanks for the information. Hopefully i will be able to make it up to Mille Lacs more than once this season. How has the fishing been? I have heard mixed reviews.
I was looking at the buckshot spoons at Cabelas yesterday and noticed that some have a trebble hook and others have a single hook. What is the perfered hook when tipping the spoon with a fat head, head? Or does it not really matter?
The buckshot with the single hook probably has a dropper rig (2 inches of line between spoon and hook) and the others have the treble directly on the spoon.
I would buy the treble. Droppers may work for some of the perch, but in my expierence, not until later on in the ice season.
