I got up this morning and had this thought in my mind. Why this came about...who knows! You just think of things sometimes.....well what came to mind was this fishng trip many years ago Hook and I and his son Josh were fishing out front of Hunters Point. There was area that we had been catching some nice perch. Well he's the nuts and bolts of where this post is going...........
Just how many of you have seen or caught a crappie out in the main basin of the Mille Lacs Lake? I'm not talking about the Isle Bay or any of the others. This was out in 30+ fow fishing perch!! I remeber the day like it was yesterday!! Josh is fishing in the portable and opens the door and said "look dad what I just caught" Yep, Hook and I looked at each other and said "what the heck"!!! But than Josh can catch fish in a five gallon bucket!!!
Have you ever heard of this happening to you on Mille lacs.....I know Glen Ertl claims to have seen a Large Mouth Bass out on one of the MudFlats he was fishing this ice season......weird..very weird stuff!!
Ive never heard of one being caught out in the lake. You would think with all the lines out in the summer someone would snag one. They must roam around out there somewhere at times.
I remember that. Had to be about 15 years ago or so. You guys had the "deer in headlights" look when you saw the crappie!!! Interesting catch out there to say the least.
I may or may not have. Several year back a friend I was fishing with caught a perch looking fish that was crossed with something. I looked back at it after a few days and thought it was the warm beer we had that day. Maybe not.
