I see the weights from the tournament at hunters so it looks like some fish are being caught. these are fish under 18 inches I take it. What can a ordinary fisherman that does not have all the fancy equipment and pro technique expect if they go out.
I purchased a dozen leeches and a dozen crawlers. started fishing Saturday night, and my last time out was Monday from 6:00am to 10:00am. I drifted using a 7 foot snell with a red hook and a leech during the day and at night anchored and used slip bobber with leech. Caught many walleye the smallest was 10 inches long and the largest was 27.50 inches long. During the day I was drifting the edge of some structure in 15 to 19 feet, and at night, more specifically at 8:30 to 9:30 I was anchored in 9 to 13 feet and had a blast. Good Luck... I also used the 15 to 20 minute then move rule.
leeches worked best for use this past weekend with a real slooww present. We pulled bobbers around the gravel. The morning and late afternoon and evening bite is your best bet. The 9am-4pm bite gets a little tougher See Bobs Kr'plunkin report for more details.
