Registering or licensing a 2 seat clam?

Merry Xmas .I am pretty new to Minnesota.This might be a dumb question to people.Can  you tell me if you need a license for a 2 man seater clam fish shleter.And how do you register it ,or does it need a adress on it or something?I know in South dakota the ice house that a person leaves over night  needs to have a their adress on it and the portable clams  or what ever kind of  fish shelter that  a  person has  does not need ot be registered or have anything  on the outside of it because they just travel lake to lake on with it or stay on a lake fora hour  or two. I really do not understand the fishing regualtions here in Minneosta.What is a Dark House?thankyou so much for the infomation!!! And have a great holiday!!!  Pete

Portable fishhouses do not need a license.Unlees you leave it on the ice over night and are not there.Hope that helps.

You do need your DNR ID number posted on the house in 2 inch high numbers.

If you leave it on the Ice and you are not there, you won't have to worry about registration.

To Outdoorsman: A 'dark house' is a ice house for spearing fish...used mostly in shallow water for spearing Northern Pike for example.
The regulations on 'dark houses' are different. No one seemed to answer your question on 'defining a 'dark house'. Here are the current DNR reg's on use of a 'dark hosue':
