The big snow storm stayed to the south! The Mille Lacs area only recieved around 3 inches of new snow. This morning we - 7 below zero.....making ice baby!
Its time to watch the calendar and see who is going to win the "Ice is here" contest....I would guess is things go well this week we might see some activity on the lake. George and his staff have been spending alot of time and fuel cost plowing the access out front. They will be hard at it this week......cold weather all week
Looks like we lucked out on the snow, Bobber. The north end up here got even less. Only 7 mile an hour winds, so since the game was postphoned until Monday night, I'll be out on the ice, checking ice thickness and scouting for a spot for our fishhouses.
Thanks Bobber, Thanks Tat2Jonnie.Good report as always.
Some snow confirmed in Malmo Bay by Malmo Mom and Malmo Mike. We have plenty of wind in Malmo Bay area, but the big snow storm apparently parked right over the Minneapolis areas. It did a fine job on the HHH dome roof and the MSP airport runways -- so alot of people had to 'camp out' at the airport terminal for the night. UGH.
Good luck Jon and stay safe dude. Dang, I hope we can still see the Vikings game Monday evening instead on some channel? I understand they are trying to re-schedule the game at U of M TCF Stadium perhaps.
Yeah, we went out up by Reddy Creek in the Perchslayer Wheelhouse today. Got 6 Perch and a couple of walleyes to bring home. The DNR is patrolling around the lake on their snowmobiles, so have your license handy. It was a good day to be in a house. We had 10+ inches where we parked the house and it's in good shape for wheelers and snowmobiles. As always, this time of year' it's always at your own risk.

Right now we have roads staked to 3 mile, but as far as taking trucks out its still up in the air. This cold weather has caused the ice to expand and create some large cracks. Be sure to check in the resort before heading out!
