The Upper Red Lake community lost a good man this week.  Anyone who fished up there surely got to know Shorty Hillman.  He was full of stories.  We remember him telling our little one to look out for Jingle Bells; the giant northern who got away so many time his lips were full of tackle!  He also showed us how to hook the minnows in the butt to catch the crappies!

Shorty had been hospitalized since the beginning of December.  A benefit for the family was already in the works for March 19th.  Shorty's memorial service will be held the same day in Kelliher with the benefit later in the day.  Please see the links below.
