Thanks I thought so someone told me the DNR will tag you if you had rods in your boat the night before even if you were looking for fish maybe its a stupid question but thanks for the help
Night Closure: No one may fish for any species or possess fishing gear on the lake from 10 p.m. through 6 a.m. starting at 10 p.m. on May 16, 2011, and ending at 12:01 a.m. on June 13, 2011.
Here's a complete list of other fishing regulations for 2011:
There is a night ban on Mille Lacs...maybe that's what they were referring to? See the content from the DNR site below:

I believe you got the exact correct answers from: Tat2jonnie (Jon) and Irishjgs (Gregg) in this thread forum.
It is strict during the night fishing ban:
05/16/ thru 06/13/11 10pm -6am
-- to protect the big females from night fishing (we have laways believed at Malmo Bay)...
I wil be out on the lake prior to Opener doing a new boat 'shake down' cruise during the daylight hours only -- I will have my rods/reels stored on board as that's where they live on the boat. By that time Tatjonnie will have all the fish located of course.
However we respect the night ban totally and it is for good reason. have fun and COme Walleye Nightime is for Formica Flats and so on. HA!
