Wanted to give a shout out to George, Scotty, Nate, and the rest of the Hunters Point crew for the FANTASTIC job that they did last week (6/30) on the launch I chartered for our company outing.
We had 23 people (employees, spouses & kids) get on a chartered bus at our office in the cities, and we arrived up at Hunters for our 6pm - 10pm launch / bbq. Out of the 23 onboard, only 4 of us had any fishing experience - the rest were all first timers.
Nate did one heck of a job getting us on the fish, and running back and forth from bow to stern (looked like OJ Simpson in the old Hertz commercials running through the airport) helping with everything from line tangles, to putting on leeches, to netting all of the 30+ fish that were put in the boat.
The food was catered by Hunters, and was all set to go, and the weather and fishing were also first class.
If you are thinking about a gathering for your company, family, or a bunch of friends, I would HIGHLY recommend giving George or Scotty a call and arranging a private launch!
Nate is one of the most knowledgable and successful launch captains on Mille Lacs. It's good to see him get a little recognition here on the forum for all his years of hard work.
