Thief on the lake.

Not for sure, but I think it was out of Mac's - A friend of a friend from work, had one stolen from there - He left it out for the week, and when he returned on Friday this week, it was gone - If this is the reported one, otherwise there is one more

Hella windy, some roof tin most likley is not that bad of an outcome - Most likley worse for some other folks

I heard of 2 wheel houses stolen this week. One on the NW corner and one was located on the SE corner. Imagine coming to Mille Lacs for a fun filled week-end and your house is gone! That really sucks.

A $5 lock on the hitch and/or a 1/2 cable locked through the wheel and arm, would certainly help. It ain't right....but it's like parking a $6000 ATV on the ice overnight, with the keys in it and hoping its there in the morning when you return.... Nothing lower than a thief.... cut a hole in the ice and slide em in.

WOW, that is really terrible news, Gene. It really sucks.

Thank you for putting the word out to everyone so they can take more precautions.

I guess all the wheel house owners have to come up with some very secure anti-theft locks, cables or bars.

What a bummer for our lake and the honest fishermen. MM.

I really like the idea of the wheeled ice house, can use it as a camper inthe summer, hunting shack, portable, able to move to different areas of the lake, or different lakes as well. The one thing I love about a permanent house on skids, you aint gonna steal it with a pair of bolt cutters and a half ton truck or SUV or ATV. We were checking out the ice castles down in Milaca, but unless you do a special paint job, they all look the same. Wheel house owners should think of of painting initials or some easily seen markings on the outside. That way when some worthless A-hole thieves it, it can be easily recognized on the highway or other lake, and then make em into an ice cube. Feel sorry for the ones that lost thier house, hope they had enough insurance.

I have a good one....  Some friends and I fish a small lake near my home.  A guy put his STOLEN wheel house next to our houses to fish crappies.  Three of the houses in our group are cops.....  you have to love it!  The dumb ass is now incarcerated and the fish house returned to the rightful owner!!!!!

I would guess that the police see info about stolen items all the time and to keep an eye out for them. Nice job on your time off too !!! Thank You !

Way to Go Rick, that is a nice ending to that story. When they mess with a guys fish house or wheel house, they are in the true scum bag category. Great ending. MM. smile

It was a description of the house.  As we all care about Mille Lacs, we also care about the lakes by our own homes!  It gets better....the guy also had a stolen RV at his house.....

Good luck fishing....  And no I dont drive home after drinking in the house...thats why I got a wheel house!
